Retro Roadshow Educational & Professional Exhibitions
In addition to our popular public appearances, The Retro Roadshow has formed ongoing relationships with several Bay Area educational institutions, business and professional associations. Our exhibitions give students and attendees of all ages the opportunity to get hands-on with fascinating artifacts from tech history, while gaining a deeper understanding of how these products paved the way to the modern world.
Please see below for examples of recent Retro Roadshow educational exhibitions, fundraising events, and lectures. Let us know if you would like to discuss a Retro Roadshow event at your school, business or professional association!
K-12 Educational Events
The Retro Roadshow has partnered with local schools to provide exciting, hands-on exhibitions about computer and video game history.
Example: we worked with an East Bay elementary school to create an interactive experience about the history and evolution of video game art, science and technology, presented at their annual Science Night event. Attendees experienced the progression of video game art, design and science across five decades of Nintendo games, which integrated into the “STEAM” concepts they were learning about in school.
Students, parents and teachers had fun while learning!
Collegiate & Professional Presentations
The Retro Roadshow has a lot to offer colleges, professional associations and corporate audiences too.
Example: we partnered with Golden Gate University for their Innovation in Practice lecture series. For this business-oriented audience, we introduced attendees to four of the biggest flops, failures and misfires from technology history, before carefully revealing the hidden successes of each. Following the lecture and presentation, attendees were invited to get “hands on” with working examples of each product discussed, creating an unforgettable connection to these fascinating artifacts.
School Fundraiser Events
In addition to our educational events, The Retro Roadshow can also be a marquee partner for any school fundraiser.
Example: we collaborated with a leading East Bay K-12 school during their “sports-themed” fundraising gala. We provided a variety of classic video game systems, each paired with a vintage and authentic CRT display, and all playing iconic sports games from the 1980’s through early 2000s. Attendees had a blast and donated generously to the school who hosted the event!
