Apple IIe

I usually post my “Zscaler Logo On A Weird, Old or Obsolete Computer” things on Friday, but since today is 02-22-22, I couldn’t help revisiting the very first one I ever shared ~4 years ago: this is the Zscaler Logo displayed on my Apple 2!*

Getting the logo to display on this 8-bit computer took some work. I used some modern software to convert the logo to a “Double Hi-Res” bitmap graphic, then used another modern app to create an AppleDOS disk image file with the logo bitmap and a simple image-viewing app pasted into it, copied that disk image file to a microSD card. Once the image and app were on the microSD card, I then used the little translucent gadget you can see to the left of the keyboard (a “Floppy Emu”) to mount the microSD card onto the Apple so it could load the disk image and display the graphic. Fun!

*Okay, technically this is an Apple IIe, but whatever, it still fits the theme 😃
