Sony CLIÉ NX60

I've been sharing pics of some of my more interesting vintage computers with a Zscaler logo onscreen, so here goes again! This time I wanted to highlight a really unique device in my collection: a Sony CLIÉ NX60. It's almost hard to remember a time before iPhones and Android devices ruled the world, but in the late 90's / early 2000's, "Personal Digital Assistant" ("PDA") devices running PalmOS were *everywhere.* Palm had their own successful line of handhelds and they also licensed their OS to other vendors.

Sony took PalmOS and completely redesigned the user interface, along with creating some of the most wildly overdesigned handheld computers ever released to the public. This NX60 is amazing: it has a tiny physical keyboard, rotating touch-screen, integrated stylus, CompactFlash slot, Sony MemoryStick slot, and enough Star Trek-style pizzazz to still look futuristic 20 years after it was released. I love this thing! I won't go into details here, but getting this Zscaler logo onto the device took some serious trickery - I had to create a Windows XP virtual machine, find and install the proprietary Sony syncing software, etc., but it was all worth it
